Transportation
-
Currently, there are 9 flexible fuel vehicles (FFV)
in our departmental fleet located across the state.
-
There are 12 public E85 fueling stations
located across the state
(4 in the metro area).
-
All 6 new 2007 vehicles were ordered with the FFV
engines. Only one of the vehicles on the
replacement list has a FFV engine so once these new
vehicles arrive our agency will have a total of 14
FFV’s. Delivery is expected between April and June.
-
This year will be the first year that any of our 4X4
trucks (5) will have the FFV.
-
Awaiting records of battery durability before
ordering any
hybrids.
-
There are no electrical cars in our fleet due to a lack of
ability to charge the battery, speed limitations and a
design limitation not yet intended for long term highway
travel.
-
Due
to cold starts on diesels, there are no diesels in our
fleet; therefore, there are no
bio-diesels that run on used oil (e.g.. french fry oil).
