STATE UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE PROGRAM
TO PROVIDE OUTREACH EFFORT IN MORGAN COUNTY
(FORT MORGAN) -- On Friday, November 20, and again on Saturday, November 21, staff from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment’s Unemployment Insurance Program will be at the Fort Morgan Workforce Center from 10 AM to 4 PM, answering questions and concerns about unemployment insurance.
When: Friday, November 20, from 10 AM to 4 PM
And
Saturday, November 21, from 10 AM to 4 PM
Where: The Fort Morgan Workforce Center
411 Main Street, #200
Receiving unemployment compensation can trigger a variety of questions. Claimants may be confused about how to close or reopen their claim; they may be uncertain about their eligibility for benefits, how long the benefits will last and how much money they will receive. Obviously, people give little thought to the unemployment insurance program until they have an immediate need to know the answers to these and numerous other questions. Unemployment law can be complex and the answers can be trickier than you might think.
To help people sort out the answers, the Unemployment Insurance Program, in conjunction with the Fort Morgan Workforce Center, is offering two opportunities to talk with some experts. Stop in on Friday or Saturday anytime between 10 AM and 4 PM and get answers to your questions. While the claims agents at the Workforce Center cannot address questions about specific claims, they can help people with any general question about unemployment insurance in Colorado. Between them, these individuals have many years of experience in assisting claimants and have an ability to make even the most complex statutes completely understandable. This informal session will provide ample opportunity for participants to get their questions answered in a clear and direct style.
The first step in preparing for and adapting to the changes created by the loss of a job is to understand the unemployment insurance program. Claimants – and anyone who believes unemployment may be a possibility -- can take that first step by simply visiting the Fort Morgan Workforce Center between 10 AM and 4 PM on either Friday or Saturday. Workforce Center staff can also talk with you about the variety of employment and training services available at no cost.
